Afternoon Tea - Millennium Hotel KNIGHTSBRIDGE

Afternoon tea, long known around the world as an excuse to enjoy cakes, sandwiches and a cuppa tea with gran. Sure its been monopolized now but its essence is still there right?

Fine so its lost that spirit but how does Millennium Hotel stand in delivering a fancy afternoon nosh?

One word, Terribly!

That's not just me being harsh, but how? How can a place so fancy suck donkey balls?

The quick answer, the service! Gargh! OK I know this won't be case for all visits and this was an exclusive for their new afternoon tea menu but if your going somewhere that's aiming at the more established quarter of London you've got to step up.

But here? Well lets say your left to fend for yourselves....

For instance, you make a booking for 3pm, you kinda expect it to resemble what you told them to write down right? Well that went out the window and committed suicide, not the waiters fault but come on management team.

After that mess, we found that we've been booked for a table; great, but show me to where I'm seated instead of pointing in the general direction you dodo and we were given no indication of how long anything would arrive or if we wanted anything while we waited.

I  actually had to get up and ask if we could have the tea now since 10 minutes of being parched was BS.

Looks nice right? Notice there's no milk? yeah....
The tea's just Twinning's Breakfast Tea, so don't hold your hopes up for something special and make sure you ask for anything else the instance they bring it over, as you won't be seeing him again for a while.

After another 15 minutes the cakes and sandwiches arrived and for the most part were very nice,  and well presented, I mean just check it out below.

Raspberrriesss!!

Verdict
Nice try but no cigar. The cakes are nice, sandwiches bit tough, scooby doo would probably say CHEW-WEEE. The service needs real work and actually serving me what I booked for would of helped as we booked for the Prosecco Afternoon tea, in fact let me show you the complete set of what we should of got (minus the teas):

Yeah no Prosecco on this trip and the waiter seemed oblivious that it was even meant to be like this.

2/10 (Just for the cakes)

Would I go again?
I could be rude and say £#%$ no! but lets just say no....
Just go to Delaunays (near Covent Garden) and buy their cakes if you want fancy otherwise even a Patisserie Valerie will do.
